Berkhamsted Young Farmers Party!!
Date: Saturday 11th September
Time: 8pm til late
Venue: Little Gaddesden Village hall, near Berkhamsted
Berkhamsted young farmers party was held on Saturday 11th September at a village hall party in Little Gaddesden, which is quite near to Berkhamsted. The night started off very stressful, with a few of us running around setting the hall up, helping the DJ set up. James and I did have a few worries about not being set up in time for 8pm, but with some teamwork and help from a few other members we had enough time to sit down and enjoy a beer and a burger before the rush.
There was a DJ, who turned out to be a great investment, as he got everyone dancing and played some very common young farmers songs. We also had a bar, which turned out to be a great sport as well, encouraging people to join in on the drinking games and fun. Attendance was 105, which surprised us and others, as most of the plans where made last minute and we hadn't had alot of interest, until the night of the party.
We also like to do few thank you's, firstly to Martin Keen and Phil Mathews, couple of ex Berkhamsted members, for coming along to help sell tickets and clear up. Also to First Call security, who kept the peace throughout the evening and cleared the hall quickly and efficiently at the end of the night. Thank you to Antony Parry for his catering, the food was spot on, and to Moonlite entertainment for the music and entertainment.
Everyone said that they enjoyed the evening, and a few people were impressed with the overall attendance and atmosphere of the party. I believe the party was a great success for our first official Young Farmers event. We have already made some plans for a "Berkhamsted Christmas Party!!" which will be held in Little Gaddesden hall again. We have decided, as it is a Christmas party not during harvest, to save hassle and complications, the tickets will have to be bought in advance and no tickets or money will be handled on the door. There are a few pictures of the night in our Berkhamsted young farmers gallery, on our page, feel free to have a look and contact us if you would like to find out more about the club.
Anyway, Thank you very much to all who showed their support and came. We look forward to seeing you all at next one, or in the near future.
